The series continues with reports of books that later became films, which began with " 27 books to read ", " 21 new books to read " and " 16 new stories to read ". In all, including this article (in which I had, for obvious reasons, to repeat a novel already present in another post), 91 books to read and then watch. Or even to watch and then read. But let's leave the word to the authors and directors. American epic US epic American Pastoral by Philip Roth: a novel that won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in '98, it is a novel that has intrigued me for some time. I sadly missed the movie they made of it, starring Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning.
The Cider House Rules by John Irving: I saw the film recently, which I really enjoyed, starring Tobey Maguire, Charlize Theron and Michael Caine. So I started looking for the novel. Curious title, given that it Special Data refers to a short scene in the film. Science fiction Science fiction The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey: One of my favorite genres, post-apocalyptic science fiction. It's certainly not a masterpiece, but I didn't dislike the film. That first novel was followed by two others. Pierre Boulle's Planet of the Apes : does it need any introduction? I finally managed to read the novel from which the film saga was born. Below we find Boulle, but in a completely different genre.
Stories from Your Life by Ted Chiang: splendid film about an extraterrestrial life form, which however took the title Arrival , with Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. The film is based on a story featured in the anthology of the same name. Ender's Game: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card: I wasn't crazy about the film, but I'll point it out anyway. Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley participated. Scott Card's novel is an expansion of one of his stories and then had two sequels. 4 novels by Herbert G. Wells 4 novels by Herbert G. Wells One of the cornerstones of science fiction. Who has never heard of one of the following novels? This year Fanucci published them in a new guise, so I bought and read them in bulk.
